It was one of the first things that I put up in this house when we moved in two years ago. The only room I managed to paint before we moved into our house (because Sam held down our other fort while our new little family was sleeping and three friends met me at the new house to help) was our master bedroom. Then a few days later (while drowning in boxes!) I spent ten minutes lining up this flower sticker to put on the living room wall and called it GOOD!
I’ve always thought that was interesting.
Most of the things I decided later made the room look too busy and I eventually took them down leaving lots of fun holes in the wall. And that is how it has sat for the past year. In order to finally patch those holes and paint the walls there was no getting around taking the giant flowers down.
While taking down something that I love has now become part of the process it is also teaching me to take time to really think about the bigger picture when it comes to decorating our home. And really…who needs to rush? Now I try to make decorating decisions based on long term vision…something that I’ll admit I have never done before.
