Here is how my day went down yesterday.
(Note: Sam is out of town for the week with our two oldest kids.)
10am – I brewed some strong coffee and enjoyed the company of friends and their kiddos for a play date at our house.
1pm – My friend was talking about her garage sale that she is doing the next morning. She was offering that I could bring some things over to add to her sale if I wanted to.
2pm – Our friends headed home and my three youngest went down for naps.
What followed was this CRAZY idea that I should clean out our storage space, go through the WHOLE house AND the garage and gather a WHOLE cargo van full of stuff to take to my friend’s garage sale.
I’ve been wanting to tackle this space for some time. Something about being able to walk to my freezer and actually be able to open it. I knew that I had a lot of things to pass on to Goodwill and never in a million years would I have thought of doing my own garage sale. I’m a big fan of the easy drive up, drop off locations at donation centers.
7pm – I frantically started pricing anything and everything!
8pm – My dad helped me drive the stuff over to my friend’s home.
10pm – We were driving home in the cool of the night and stopped at a drive thru for some smoothies.
I have some odds and ends to clean up today before the kids get into the random piles that were left downstairs.
The whole time I kept asking myself am I crazy? I could have never tackled this without the help of my parents hanging out with the kids after naps. Now that it is done I am SO GLAD that I pushed through to do it.
And that freezer I can now see…
Are you motivated by garage sales? Do you love them or leave them?
