It has been so nice having my dad with us for the past week. He drove the long haul from Virginia to Minnesota and my mom flies in on Tuesday! It really is a dream come true to have them staying with us.
Growing up, I remember many Saturday mornings watching This Old House with Bob Vila & Norm Abram.
My dad is a general contractor and had reign of the remote. 🙂 When I look back, that is where my love for homes, creating functional spaces, and decor all started.
Each year the area that I grew up in would put on something called Homaroma.
Builders and designers would get together to create some fabulous home designs. The homes were then open to the public to walk through. We went almost every year. I have so many fond memories of walking through all of the different homes with my dad.
Last week, Gina from The Shabby Creek Cottage hosted, Summer Tour of Homes. It was like a virtual Homearoma filled with so many fabulous, beautiful blogger home designs. I loved looking at all of the different styles, colors, and unique features that make each house a home.
At the end of the week various bloggers were invited to link up their own home tours. Needless to say, I was swept up into the goodness as I virtually toured so many fun homes.
I thought it would be fun to share some of my favorites with you all. Warning: Grab a warm cup of coffee or tea before beginning your tour…you may be here a while. 🙂
First up is Liz from My Life In Projects.
If you check out her living room colors you will see why I was drawn in. 🙂 The play space is absolutely adorable and I love all of the various art on the walls with such vibrant colors. I just might have also fallen in love with the color in her nursery, yes please!
Next, is Jessica from Mom 4 Real.
Her kitchen had me at hello! I love the warmth and flow of her home and her kitchen nook is darling. Not to mention that I would be delighted to sip an ice tea and stay and chat in her beautiful patio space.
Then we have KariAnne from Thistlewood Farms.
I’m pretty sure that I could stand in her butler’s pantry for hours. Her style of story telling is as inspiring as her home. I love her exquisite taste and attention to detail. Her clean, crisp neutral pallet with pops of vibrant color are so soothing and delightful!
Finally, we have Julia from Cuckoo 4 Design.
Her patio and rock garden are very enchanting. You won’t want to miss her sharpie walls in the bathroom and of course I totally loved her striped curtains in the living room. Every one of her pictures had me gazing intently!
You can find these home tours and more on my Pinterest Board, Fabulous Home Tours. For even more inspiration check out the full set of tours on Gina’s blog that will leave you with LOTS of great inspiration and possibly needing two cups of warm goodness! 🙂
