Cereal is our usual go to breakfast food during the week along with fresh fruit when it is on hand. We also like to switch things up a bit on the weekends and make pancakes, french toast, or waffles along with eggs and bacon. Ok, now I am getting hungry!
On the days that we make french toast a whole loaf of bread will disappear as well as over two dozen eggs in order to create the french toast and have scrambled eggs on the side.
Those 2 containers of strawberries that I purchased at the store for $5 will be consumed in one sitting along with an entire bunch of bananas. Which is why when I scored 16 containers of strawberries last week (for $5 at a local discount store) it instantly became an Instagram photo to share (my excitement was hard to contain!)
The crew also consumes about four boxes of cereal per week.
I have an easy granola recipe that I make quite often. We have the kids mix it in with other store bought cereals otherwise it would get consumed in one sitting.
Those oatmeal boxes with the 12 single serving packets that I use to buy…I’ve had them on hand over the past year and have had to make all 12 packets in order to feed everyone for one meal. Now I always buy the bulk containers of oatmeal.
It is a delight to fill these growing children’s tummies! I can only imagine what these numbers will look like as our crew continues to get older. I currently joke that I will need to find a full time job down the road just to feed this amazing crew! 🙂
To anyone with a larger family reading this, it is funny how much food this probably sounds like to others (I use to be the “others”) and yet maybe now, like me, you don’t really stop to think about it because this is just normal everyday morning kind of life (The kind with live auctions and everything!) It is our normal and I LOVE IT!
